Privacy Policy
Effective October 18, 2026
YouTube Shield is designed to keep detailed YouTube usage data on your device. The current extension stores active and background time, watch activity, visits, Daily Limit information, insights and related statistics in Chrome extension local storage.
Settings, Custom Rules and media that you choose to import are also kept in local extension storage. Some temporary interface state uses Chrome session storage; floating-window placement and temporary Intent Gate approvals use browser storage on YouTube pages.
The current extension does not transmit YouTube watch history, detailed usage statistics, video IDs or YouTube URLs to YouTube Shield servers. This does not describe data YouTube itself receives when you use its website.
This website stores language and theme preferences in your browser's localStorage. The website package contains no analytics or advertising scripts and does not set its own tracking cookies.
If you purchase Premium access, Paddle processes checkout and payment information under its own privacy notice. YouTube Shield may process subscription identifiers and entitlement status as needed to activate access.
The website and extension do not ask for your card number or CVV. Payment details are entered with Paddle.
If you contact support, we receive the information you choose to send, such as an email address, message, screenshots or a bug report. Hosting infrastructure may create technical access logs, including IP address and request details; the provider's settings determine retention.
You may uninstall the extension or clear browser storage. You can contact [email protected] with privacy questions. Paddle's separate privacy notice applies when you use its checkout.
We will update this notice when our verified data practices change.
