YouTube Shield is the brand under which the service is offered.
By using YouTube Shield or purchasing Premium access, you agree to these Terms.
YouTube Shield is a browser extension that provides tools for customizing YouTube, viewing usage statistics, reducing distracting elements, and controlling how YouTube is used.
YouTube Shield is an independent product and is not affiliated with, sponsored by, endorsed by, or operated by YouTube or Google.
YouTube is a third-party service and may change its website or technical systems. Such changes may temporarily affect YouTube Shield features. We may update the extension to maintain compatibility, fix bugs, improve performance, or change functionality.

Payments and recurring billing are handled by Paddle as Merchant of Record.
Where offered, the Monthly plan includes a 7-day free trial. Unless canceled before the trial ends, it converts to a paid Monthly subscription at $2.99 per month under the terms shown at checkout.
Recurring subscriptions renew until canceled.
Cancellation stops future renewals. Where cancellation is scheduled for the end of the current billing period, Premium access continues until that period ends. Paddle provides subscription cancellation through its customer-management systems.
YouTube Shield may issue free Premium, creator, giveaway, or discount codes.
Codes may have a limited number of uses, a limited duration, an expiration date, or restrictions on the plan to which they apply.
Free access and promotional codes have no cash value and may not be exchanged for money.
YouTube Shield may disable promotional access in cases of fraud, technical abuse, or deliberate misuse.
You may use YouTube Shield for its intended purpose.
You may not deliberately attack, disrupt, abuse, or attempt to fraudulently bypass its subscription, licensing, redemption, or security systems.
YouTube Shield's original software, branding, graphics, and other original materials remain the property of their respective rights holder. Your access to the service does not transfer ownership of those materials to you.
We aim to provide a reliable service but cannot guarantee that YouTube Shield will always operate without interruptions, bugs, or incompatibilities, particularly when YouTube, Chrome, or other third-party services change.
YouTube Shield is a productivity and customization tool. We do not guarantee any particular reduction in screen time, improvement in productivity, academic result, financial result, or other personal outcome.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, YouTube Shield is not responsible for losses caused solely by third-party platforms, internet or device failures, or circumstances outside our reasonable control.
Nothing in these Terms limits consumer rights or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Refunds are governed by the YouTube Shield Refund Policy, Paddle's applicable refund rules, and any mandatory consumer rights.
We may update these Terms when the service changes. The current version will be published on our website.

YouTube Shield respects your privacy and is designed to keep detailed YouTube usage data on your device whenever possible.
YouTube Shield stores usage statistics such as active time, background playback, total time, videos and Shorts watched, watch time, Daily Limit information, and related statistics locally in your browser.
YouTube Shield does not send your YouTube viewing statistics, watch history, video IDs, or YouTube URLs to its servers.
The extension also stores your settings and preferences in Chrome extension storage.
YouTube Shield generates a random installation identifier used to provide Premium access, verify subscriptions, and redeem promotional or giveaway codes. This identifier may be stored using Chrome storage, including Chrome Sync, and may be sent to the YouTube Shield API.
Payments are processed by Paddle, which acts as Merchant of Record.
YouTube Shield does not receive or store your card number, CVV, bank details, name, email address, billing address, or billing country as part of its subscription database.
To provide Premium access, YouTube Shield stores only limited subscription information linked to the random installation identifier:
For giveaway or promotional access, YouTube Shield may store the redeemed code and the date on which the granted access expires.
Checkout or transaction identifiers may be processed temporarily when necessary to open or complete a transaction, but they are not retained as part of a customer profile.
Paddle independently processes checkout and payment information under its own privacy notice.
If you contact YouTube Shield support, we receive the information you choose to provide, such as your email address, message, screenshots, or bug reports.
YouTube Shield does not maintain its own subscriber IP-address or behavioral advertising database. Standard technical server logs, such as IP address, request time, or browser information, may be generated automatically by hosting infrastructure.
Information processed by YouTube Shield is used to operate the extension, provide Premium access, manage subscriptions and promotional access, prevent abuse, resolve technical problems, and provide support.
YouTube Shield does not sell personal information or detailed YouTube usage information, and does not use your YouTube viewing activity to build advertising profiles or serve targeted advertising.
Detailed YouTube usage statistics remain in browser storage and are not available to YouTube Shield from its servers.
Subscription and entitlement information is retained for as long as reasonably necessary to provide and administer access, resolve disputes or technical problems, prevent abuse, and comply with applicable obligations.

Canceling a subscription stops future renewals according to the cancellation terms presented through Paddle. Cancellation by itself does not automatically mean that a previous payment is refunded.
Refund requests for Paddle transactions are handled through Paddle and are subject to Paddle's current Refund Policy and any mandatory consumer rights that apply to the purchaser. Paddle's current policy states that transactions are generally non-refundable unless required by law, while Paddle may also issue refunds on a discretionary basis.
Refund or billing requests can be submitted through Paddle's buyer support at Paddle.net. Paddle identifies refund requests and subscription cancellations as buyer-support functions handled there.
If a refund is issued for a purchase, access associated with that purchase may end in accordance with Paddle's refund rules.
